This story takes place during the time of the Illiad. It's about the battle of Troy and what happened to the women once the city was taken. You certainly hit the ground running in the very first chapter with the main character being ushered into the Citadel and waiting with the other women while their men are slaughtered and their homes ransacked.

I gave this a 1 out of 5 stars for several reasons. First is this novel is very pornographic with lots of sexual details. It was very uncomfortable to read and hard to get through with the amount of references to sex, drugs, and violence. Next, there is a LOT of bad language used in this book. More so than I think I have ever read in any novel in my lifetime. The author also uses lots of drawn out words quite often. Things like "we-ell" and 'no-oo" constantly got very annoying. The over all language also doesn't fit the language of the time period and some of the references made by some of the characters, are out of the time period for the people so they wouldn't know about certain things. The violence was also very graphic talking about people holding their intestines outside of their bodies and being sliced clean down the middle. Then their is the instance of a plague happening. A character passes and has his corpse abused. This book was just really hard to read and not very enjoyable.
